I will be running some hands-on photo classes in June for people who would like to learn the basics of photo taking.
These classes are for anyone new to photography, and are based around use of SLR film and digital cameras. You will need to bring your own camera, or borrow one for the class! To anyone slightly familiar who would like to brush up on some technical aspects or fine tune their existing shooting style, this is also for you. Intermediate classes will be held a bit later on for those asking! 🙂
Classes will be kept to a maximum of 6 people per class, to enable me to have close back and forth with each student and make sure everyone comes away with a clear understanding of how to use their camera and perhaps how to achieve the photos they would like to take.
WEEK 1 – $150pp for a 3hr single workshop
WEEK 1+2 – $270pp for 2 x 3hr workshops
WEEK 1 will cover photography theory and basics, a few practical shooting exercises, as well as a Q&A.
WEEK 2 will place further emphasis on practising your skills and also give you an opportunity to present a photograph that you are either happy or unhappy with, and have a friendly group discussion around what was done well and what could have potentially been done better. It will also be a chance to come back to me with any further questions or troubleshooting you may have found from WEEK 1.
Workshops will be based on location and at TAMALE studios in Northcote, right off the 11 tram or 15 mins walk from Northcote train station, on Saturday afternoons from 2pm – 5pm, through June.
If you would like to secure a place for one of these workshops please email me with the following:
+ your name & contact number
+ which class you would like to attend (film or digital) and (if just week 1 or both weeks)
+ what camera you will be bringing (model name or send me a clear photo of it)
+ a few things you’d like to learn
I will just require a $50 deposit to keep your place for the class, and as they are small it will be a case of who confirms first.
I will also be running one-on-one private lesson classes on flexible dates and times
covering this same content during June in Melbourne for anyone who can’t do Saturdays,
@ $250 for 2 hours.
Hope to see you soon!
